One of the sad truths of life is that people forget. How many times have you met someone and then an hour later you can’t remember that person’s name. Or you read something and later you just don’t remember what you have just read. This is a fact that everyone has to acknowledge. People can forget what you say and show them. However there is one truth for all audiences: people never forget how you made them feel. If you have the choice between telling an audience facts versus telling an emotional story, the story is always better. In a story, you change how people feel and at the same time you can make a point. Learn to tell a story, a great story. Make audiences remember how they feel when they left your presentation. They may not remember your name but they will remember how you made them feel.
